Elevating 50 Cent to new heights with help from Kinesys

Kinesys was on hand to celebrate the 20th anniversary of 50 Cent’s debut studio album, Get Rich or Die Tryin’, the New York rapper played a series of dates in Europe. The Final Lap tour featured a setlist crammed with the biggest tracks from 50’s two-decade career.

A total of 38 Kinesys v2 apexHoist 500s and v2 apexDRIVE NAVs were incorporated as part of an automation package as provided by TAIT to control four 800Kg video towers on the main stage, two giant flown B-stage video cubes, and a performer flying rig. The entire setup operated seamlessly with TAIT Navigator, with the hoists mounted in HUD truss. The TAIT Navigator Automation Platform was utilized for efficient front-end control.

Onstage, the four mainstage video cubes altered the backdrop throughout the show, morphing from urban cityscapes to futuristic neon-lit backdrops to a cabaret-style theatrical setting. The two B-stage video cubes weighing in at 5.5tn and 3.5tn automated to provide a B-stage reveal as 50 Cent was flown on a performer flying rig high above the main stage.

The Final Lap tour’s EU leg opened in Amsterdam on September 28th and played 38 dates, culminating with a final European gig at London’s O2 Arena.
