Scientific/Medical Advisory Board

The Scientific Advisory Board provides critical guidance and technical expertise in the area of research and development of products that are comprised of novel and high quality formulations that meet and exceed the market demand of athletes and active individuals.

Each member of the Board contributes a unique area of expertise to ensure that each KINeSYS product is the best available today through a process of stringent product development, product evaluation, formulation optimization and quality control.
The members of the Board are:

Dr. Doug Clement, C.M., B.Sc., M.D., F.A.C.S.M. - Chairman

Dr. Clement is an internationally recognized former Olympic and Commonwealth athlete and coach and is presently an active member of the Vancouver Whistler Bid Committee for the 2010 Olympic Games. As a Professor Emeritus of the Allan McGavin Sports Medicine Center at the University of British Columbia, where he also taught and practiced medicine, Dr.Clement is highly regarded for his insight into athletics from educational, medical and business standpoints.

Dr. Clement has been a member of the Canadian Olympic Association Board of Directors from 1985 - 1993 and is the team physician for the Vancouver Canucks in the National Hockey League. Dr.Clement has been honored with a number of academic and professional awards, including: Coach of the Year (Sport BC), Order of Canada Medal, Fellowship of the American College of Sports Medicine, the Vanier Award, and the Sports Medicine Council of Canada Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Ross Davidson, M.D., ChB., FRCSC

In 1971 Dr. Davidson left New Zealand and trained as an Orthopedic Surgeon at Vancouver General Hospital. As a leading Orthopedic Surgeon and past president of the NHL Physicians, Dr. Davidson has had exposure to and has facilitated the recovery of a number of high profile professional athletes.

Presently Dr. Davidson is the Team Physician for the Vancouver Canucks (NHL), Consultant for the Canadian Olympic Hockey Team and a Consultant for the Canadian Football League (CFL) Players Association. Dr.Davidson is a Consultant at the Allan McGavin Sports Medicine Center, is a Past-President of Medical Staff and is on the Resident Selection Committee, Department of Orthopaedics, at the University of British Columbia.
Dr. Barry Glickman, Ph.D. Molecular Genetics

Since 1971 Dr.Glickman has been involved in the Medical Faculty at the University of Leiden and then as a visiting "expert" in Microbial Genetics. He is a past E.W.R. Steacie Fellow and holds the NSERC-PHARMACIA Industrial Research Chair in Environmental Biotechnology. In addition to his academic experience, D. Glickman is a Managing Editor of Mutation Research.

He has served on numerous grant and scholarship panels in the U.S. and Canada and is on several scientific boards including the Canadian Space Agency.
Dr. David McLean, M.D., FRCPC

Dermatologist, Professor and Director of the Canadian Melanoma Foundation, Dr. McLean is the head of Dermatology at the University of British Columbia. He sits on the board of the Canadian Melanoma Foundation and the Dermatology Times publication. He has and continues to travel around the world, lecturing and educating other dermatologists and has developed a CD-ROM on skin diseases.
Dr. Jack E. Taunton, M.Sc., M.D., F.A.C.S.M.

Dr. Taunton is still a top-level runner and continues to race long distance. He is a professor at the University of British Columbia, the Co-Director of the Allan McGavin Sports Medicine Centre and is the Team Physician for the Vancouver Grizzlies NBA Basketball team and previously the Canadian Field Hockey Team. Like each of the other members of the Scientific Advisory Board, Dr. Taunton has been involved in a number of research projects and has written articles and papers for a variety of publications.
